Originally two separate hotel, Gale South Beach and Regent Hotel were built for the same owner in 1941 by L. Murray Dixon, one of the principal architects of Tropical Art Deco style. Although not identical, both hotels evoked the Streamline Modern Style, a late adaptation of Art Deco design.
